How to Merge PDF Files Online Without Uploading Them

Learn how browser-based PDF mergers keep your documents private while combining multiple files into one.

Most “free PDF merge” sites ask you to upload documents to a remote server. That works, but it means a third party temporarily stores (and sometimes logs) your files.

A better approach for sensitive paperwork—contracts, IDs, tax forms—is a client-side merger. The FreeTools Merge PDF page loads pdf-lib in your browser, stitches pages together locally, and lets you download the result.

Steps: open the merge tool, drop two or more PDFs, reorder if needed, and click Merge. Nothing is sent to our servers.

If a file is password-protected, unlock it first in a desktop PDF reader. Encrypted PDFs cannot always be processed in the browser.
